How do you measure the window for treatments?

If you have decided on curtains that are gathered and placed on a rod, how do you measure how many panels you are going to need?

What should be the proper ratio to make the correct decision, as with COVID the store is open but only for curbside pick up, and no returns?

Any ideas?

Nancymac,

2. Determine the number of panels you need to order:

~ Multiply window width by 1.5 to 2 if you want curtains loosely gathered for a relaxed, tailored look. Divide your total by the width of a single curtain panel to get the number of panels you need.

~ Multiply window width by 2.5 to 3 if you want curtains tightly gathered for a full, luxurious look. Divide your total by the width of a single curtain panel to get the number of panels you need.

Thanks for sharing good idea as it always tough job for me to do this and when I prefer to book a professional service provider they charge high in my country.
