How to wash
Do you wash your curtains and if so, how often? We bought some new ones and they say handwash only. We have always just tossed ours in the washer on the delicate cycle. Do you think it would be alright to do this for these?
I think it would be fine. The delicate cycle should be gentle enough. You could also put the curtains out to air dry, so that the heat from the dryer doesn't damage them.
I've done that before and it turned out okay. I used mild detergent and washed them in cold water on the delicate setting. You can probably only do one panel at a time, so it takes a while to complete the task if you're washing all the curtains in your house.
I like the idea of air drying. I'm sure that is where I ran into problems before, the heat of the dryer. I think washing them on the delicate cycle would be just fine.
You should have no problem if you use a very mild detergent and that cycle. I don't like to hand wash mine because I don't feel like I get all the soap out. They tend to dry stiff when I hand wash them.
