Outside mount vs. Inside Mount?

My wife has wanted me to update our blinds for some time now, and I’ve finally got the time to take care of it all. As I’ve looked at new blind options, I’ve noticed that there are “inside mount” and “outside mount” options available. Are there any big differences between them that I should know about? Which ones are generally preferred?
