Can blackout curtains cool home down?
Hey guys, I'm trying to cool my home down a bit more, and I was told by some that getting blackout curtains for your home can cool the place down some. Is this true? I want to install blackout curtains for every single window in my home.

I put blackout curtains in my living room and the bedroom and in the heat of the summer we have had over the last two weeks, I have only had to use a fan.
I have an air conditioner but due to a family member having health problems, the air makes it worse.
I'm glad to hear it, because I am no fan of the heat and would prefer to cool my place down as much as possible. My kids on the other hand love the heat and complain if the house is too dark, but if it cools the place down and even saves a bit on electricity, I'm for it. đŸ™‚

Yes, blackout curtains definitely help it stay cooler in the house. I have a blackout curtain in my bedroom because I don't have any air conditioning in there.
