Hanging curtains
Quote from BobbiJ on July 23, 2020, 10:28 pmWhere do you hang your curtains? Do you put the rod even with the frame? Do you put it over the top, slightly off to the side of each? I have a mixture at my house.

Quote from John J on July 24, 2020, 4:24 amI always go for an even hang, so the length of the rod is the same measurement on either side of the frame. Six inches over, for example, on each side. How much over the top of the frame depends on the length of the curtain.

Quote from Miranda on July 24, 2020, 5:09 pmOh, I can't handle having a mixture of lengthens and placements. My OCD kicks in and I have to make them all look the same throughout the house. My curtain rods are slightly above the frame and the curtains hang down to the floor. We recently adopted a kitten though, so I'm in the market for shorter curtains so the kitten won't try to climb them.

Quote from samanthaV on July 25, 2020, 12:50 amAll of ours are a few inches over the window frame. We have the decorative rods so it wouldn't look good right next to the window frame.
We used to have them go to the floor. Now we switched them to about 5 inches below the window.

A cheaper alternative to that is to take them up a bit. My mother used to do that when I got hand-me-down pants from my older brothers and they were too long.

Quote from Gabe on July 27, 2020, 10:38 amWe have a mixture of vertical blinds and curtains in our home right now. We are going to switch all the windows over to blinds of one type of another, but we haven't decided which yet. Our bedroom has curtains - our rod is slightly above the frame, and our curtains hang to a few inches below the window.
