Alternatives to Command Strips?

I've had to repaint my son's bedroom wall several times after a Command Strip was removed improperly, resulting in the paint tearing away from the wall. What alternatives are out there for Command Strips? I really don't want to repaint again!  😆

Wow, I've never had an issue with them. You can always use a drywall screw but that is kind of permanent (unless you mud the wall when you take it out).

Are you using the real command strips or a generic brand?

We're using the real ones, not the generic brand. I wonder if it's in an error in how we are putting them on the wall?

A drywall screw is an option and I don't mind mudding the wall. But the issue is, he has a lot of posters that he likes to have hanging in his room. So, a screw wouldn't work well for those.

If you're just hanging something super light like posters or photos, then use some painter's tape. It will come off the wall without causing damage. I'm surprised that 3M's Command Strips damaged your walls. I haven't used them myself, but I've always heard that they're the best thing to use if you rent an apartment and are afraid of losing your deposit. If you have more to remove, try using a hairdryer to loosen them up first.

Another alternative you could use is a mounting putty of some kind. It doesn't damage the walls.  The only issue I've had with it is it might peel a bit of paper off of the poster that you're hanging. But, overall, I like using it for my mounting needs.
