Surfaces that destroy germs
In the past, I never considered changing up my home in order to avoid germs, but here we are in 2021 with the coronavirus pandemic still raging out of control. It's got me thinking about the materials we use in our homes. Is there hardware that destroys germs or at least won't allow them to live long on its surface? Are there are any surface materials that are less friendly to germs than others? Granite, copper, brass, silver, soapstone, marble, glass, plastic, wood - is there any difference?
I've read that bronze, brass, and copper have some germ fighting powers so they're great for kitchen and bathroom hardware. I'm not sure when it comes to countertops though.
Very interesting topic and I have to say I have little to no knowledge on it. I will be following this to see what others think. I constantly clean my counters and hard surfaces in my house. I never thought about a hardware or something that could help with germs.
