Accent walls

I'm curious to know people's thoughts on accent walls. We are thinking of doing one room in our master bedroom with wood tongue and groove boards. This will take a bit of time so we decided to only do one main wall. I think if we did more than one wall it would be too much.

I've done the same thing, except we used wallpaper instead of wood. Wallpaper is beautiful, but it's also frustrating to hang, so a single accent wall is about all I can handle. I hope your DIY project goes well!

Yes, yes and yes! I love that tongue-and-groove look. They actually sell wallpaper that looks like it. I wouldn't ever buy the wallpaper but some do. What kind of boards are you using? I like cedar but pine is cheaper.

I love the idea of an accent wall. I think it really changes up a room. I've seen many houses that have one wood wall. They look fantastic! Did you stain or paint your boards? I'm interested in what type of wood you used too.

I love a good accent wall. Over the years, wallpaper has gotten easier to hang and take down so maybe you guys should give it a try if you haven't seen the new stuff.

MikeTT, that sounds gorgeous! I'm not sure I could pull that off DIY style, so I hope you'll let us know how it went.

They're pretty much round the bend. They are easy to implement , stylish , and flexible. All of these aspects make accent walls worthy enough to get.

You can even buy wallpaper to look like tongue and groove. I wouldn't of course, I would install it.

There are so many neat ways to accent a room. How did it turn out?

The tongue and groove look to bring back memories. When I moved into my first house, that's how the study was accented, I loved to just sit in that room staring at the walls for hours.

I hope you all enjoy them just as much as I have in the past.
