Getting rid of strips on the wall
Quote from Charli on November 16, 2020, 11:48 pmWe recently purchased a modular home and the walls have strips down them (to hide the seams). I want to remove these because they look awful. What are my choices for fixing this so you don't see the seams?

Quote from Darien on November 17, 2020, 2:30 amSo I had a similar problem in my old house, so this is what you will have to do: remove the strips, get drywall mud with some repair take and put it over the seams, then you will need to sand the seam down (I can't remember what I used), lastly you will have to paint the wall. I know these instructions were a little unclear, but I hope they help you. By the way, USG Sheetrock is a good brand of drywall mud.

Quote from samanthaV on November 23, 2020, 3:25 pmWe had to do this to one of our rentals. We ripped the strips off carefully, still tore some paper off too. We used the drywall tape and then lots of mud. Mud, sand, more mud, more sanding! It was a pain! After we got the walls to where we could tolerate the sight, we primered and painted!
