Hiding entertainment

I'm looking for creative ways to hide some speakers, a television, and a record player. Right now we're using a huge entertainment center that dominates the room. The speakers are attached to the wall. None of it looks modern. Any suggestions?

Great question! I've watched shows where the television is built into the wall. When they pushed a button the wall split and the television was visible. I have no idea how they did it though.

Could you mount the TV on the wall? There'd still be the issue of the speakers, but you could have a small table below the TV where they could sit.
