Ice on roof
What's the best way to get ice off of a roof (double wide roof, kind of flat)? My neighbor is having a huge problem with ice, it's dripping inside the house and ruining the walls.
Oh no! Sounds like there is snow up there too? I would think someone needs to go up and clear the ice. Maybe put some rock salt on the roof? That should help it melt. Tell them to be careful if it is icy.
Is the water coming in the house? That's what it sounds like. I would probably stay off the roof if I could. If the roof is rotting through, then it's possible that it's not strong enough to hold a person up. The owner could try standing on a ladder and knocking off the ice with a shovel. Unfortunately, I bet a new roof is in order and that can be expensive.
Is the eave frozen and backing up? I had this problem once and the water literally poured down into my basement. If it is the wave, I would try to take that one down and get the ice out.
He ended up roping himself off and climbing up there. Yes, the water was coming inside. He put rock salt down and the sun melted a lot of the ice. He shoveled the snow off first.
