Patterned wallpaper
Has anyone put patterned wallpaper up and then painted over it? You know so the design (pattern) shows up through the paint? I guess it would be textured wallpaper. I was thinking this would be pretty.
You can actually buy textured wallpaper. They have all sorts of textures, and they're often made out of natural fibers. That would be much easier than doing it the other way. It will also probably look neater.
I had a friend who put textured wallpaper up and then painted over it. She did it in her young daughters room. It looked pretty neat. I'm not sure I would want to go to all the trouble of putting up wallpaper and then painting.
Did you decide to do this? How did it look after you painted it?
What kinds of patterns does this wallpaper come in? I think it sounds pretty cool and I think my daughter would like it in her bedroom. I've got to look into this!
My sister and her husband did textured wall paper for their nursery! They were really happy with the result. I was thinking about doing it in my house too, and my sister only had good things to say about it.
What did it look like after you did it?
We did this in the playroom and it turned out great! The wallpaper we choose has big flowers so when we painted it, they stick out. We are thinking of painting them a different color, to sort of pop.
