Popcorn ceiling
I hate the ceilings in this new house we bought (to flip). They are popcorn ceilings and look horrible! I want to get rid of them, hubby wants to clean them. What's the cheapest and fastest way to get rid of them?
Popcorn ceilings strike again! I'm not a fan of them myself. There is product you can get at Home Depot that you can apply to the ceiling. You then scrape the product off and the popcorn ceiling texture comes with it. Hopefully, that'll solve the problem for you!
You literally have to scrape it off, and I'll be honest with you, it takes time to do it. My arms and shoulders were so sore afterwards. So have a great audiobook or podcast ready to listen to, so it doesn't feel as tedious.
I always spray them done with warm water and then scrape them. It's a mess and a tedious job. Be careful you don't dig too far into the ceiling. It will look bad when you repaint.
I really hope your popcorn ceiling removal goes well! If you're concerned about doing it yourself, or you're unable to, there are companies that will remove it for you. It'll be more expensive than doing it yourself, but it could be worth it in the long run.
