Two Second Walls
Quote from JS 4by4 on December 27, 2020, 6:35 amThere is an addition to my house that only has cinderblock for the 2 walls. One faces north, one faces east and meet at a 90 degree angle. This was built roughly 20 years ago. The window frames were built into these walls. The problem with this is the lack of insulation. How would I go about building walls to put insulation in with the windows the way are now? They have single pane glass.
Ideally, I would want second walls inside and out.

Would you just put up drywall, blow insulation into the middle (between the cinder block and new drywall). You could extend the window casing and just put new boards around the entire window.
