Adirondack chairs

My wife wants to make some Adirondack chairs now. I have seen some beautiful ones out there, I've never made them. Anyone tell me where to find the plans for some (free is best)? Also if you have made them, do you have any tips or tricks I could use?

I've never made one from scratch, but they look fairly simple to make if you have the right tools. You can find some DIY instructions on Spruce to help you get started.

I made one out of pallets a couple of years ago. It's not exactly difficult, but it can be time-consuming. If you're making more than one, then my tip is to cut all your pieces first. Cut all the arms you'll need and set them to the side. Cut all the back pieces you'll need and set them to the side. Then assemble your chairs. Do a search for DIY plans on Instructables. That's my go-to site for DIY projects.

I tried and I couldn't pull it off. They look like simple chairs that should be easy to make, but the curved lines threw me off. In my defense, I didn't have a grid pattern on the wood to follow. So my advice is to do that first. I was trying to freewheel it.
