Building a fence and working on your backyard

First of all, I don't think I could ever live in a house without a backyard fence. As an avid dog lower, having a fence is just an essential and luxurious part of home-ownership. A reliable fence can offer complete privacy, will often increase the value of your home, and offers a sort of peaceful feeling.

I recently watched a really good video on building your own fence and thought I'd share it with some friends online;

Working on my backyard has been a fun hobby in itself. Recently I completed my fire pit, bought a new grill, and hung string lights in a few of my oak trees. Actually, a backyard can be a wonderful sanctuary and extension to your mancave. Certain improvements like building a garden, deck, and shed really add value and reward to your home.

What kind of outdoor fixtures do you have?

Really interesting topic, that many of us wouldn't even think of it. As always we are thinking mostly the inner decoration of a house. But it is equally important to make the garden/fence also matching with the house. Before you install a fence, ask yourself what your reason is for installing it, is it just only for your privacy? likewise...  💡

A fence or lack of it is the first thing a guest is going to see about your home. A good fence will make an impression even before a guest has entered your home.

Fence also adds a measure of safety to your back-yard/front-yard.

You have done well with your backyard with fire pit and all. It adds a lifestyle value in the summer. If well managed, It's nice place to hang out with friends and family. A few photos would be welcome.

I need a fence built, and I'm sure I can build it. According to this video it seems pretty simple. I would love to save $3,000.00.

Thanks for sharing this video! I appreciate the information, especially as I’ve been considering whether or not it’s a good idea to go ahead and install a fence on my own rather than calling in the fence pros. Once I get a fence worked out, the backyard will be my next project!

Great topic! We live in the country and own hundreds of acres of land. We do have invisible fencing so that our dogs don't run free on all of it.

We have a fire pit, horseshoe pits, hot tub, 2 decks and multiple flower beds.

Tony,

Thanks for the video. My German Shepherd puppy has just gotten big enough to climb over our backyard fence (it's only about 3ft tall), so I'm needing to get a decent fence put up. I may go this route. Looks great and should be simple enough to put up.

I think when you have some animal ( for example dog ) that lives mainly on your backyard you need to have some type of fence. Sometimes it is even better to have some because your neighbors wouldnt look through window what you are doing or whats in your garden etc.. Have good looking higher fence is the best you can have for your personal space

It's great if you can learn to build a fence by yourself , this way you'll be able to save more money, and also can attain your satisfaction.

I once tried to build a fence in my lawn but I ended up making a mess and destroying some of the plants as well , so doing it solo would not be right to do.
