DIY gone awry
Let's hear some of your DIY projects that were perfectly planned, but went off the rails when it came to execution. I'm still smarting from the mess I made yesterday. I tried to paint a design on my porch. Unfortunately, the paint seeped right through the tape I used to mark off my pattern. It's a big mess and will need repainting. That's my DIY project gone awry, now let's hear yours.
I'm sorry to hear your painting got ruined. I have had some mishaps of my own in the last few days. I helped my sister put together a desk she ordered from Wal-Mart. Everything seemed perfect when we were done, but when we put a couple of boxes on the desk, the whole thing collapsed. It turns out we had put some screws in the wrong place. Repairing the desk took about two hours.
Wow, I've done both of those! Mine was a dresser though, not a desk.
I recently hung up a rack in the closet. I used a stud finder and thought I did a job job. The darn screws pulled right out of the wall. I had to cut out the drywall and replace it.
